Fingerboarders You Should Know: Beau Marchant

Flashback: It's 2000 and Tech Decks are the latest and greatest thing since Pokemon. Your entire class is filled with the sounds of clicking and clacking.

Wondering what the rest of the world does with this toy, you decide to search on the internet. You wait patiently a minute as your modem finishes dialing in. You head over to Altavista and search for "tech decks". The first result is Techdecks.com and you decide to click in.

This was my actual first experience online in fingerboarding. In the rankings, I saw some familiar names towards the top, Matt Johnson from Flying Fingers and Darin Langhorst from Fingers of Fury. There was a name at the top of the list that I did not recognize so I decided to check out his clips. His name was Beau Marchant.

Beau was different from other fingerboarders online. He did his tricks low to the ground with limited excess in movement. His style was smooth, and he could combo tricks that very few Fingerboarders could do on their own.

Have I piqued your interest?
